Comments
What did you like most about this instructor and course?
- Use of technology in regards to writing. I.e. wiki/Twitter. Instructor was engaging and helpful.
- It does what it says it does. The course is very good at combining technology and styles of writing.
- His originality and creative assignments make them interesting and an actual joy to complete.
- The class material + class discussions always made me think. Honestly, one of the best classes I've ever taken.
- Professor Mueller is knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Makes (mostly) dry topics fun in a way and has unique insights.
- Looking into various perspectives of style in an interesting manner.
- Derek is a great professor and really tried to get us to think about style and how technology affects it.
- Very helpful, tries to make the course content applicable to individual experience.
- Instructor is avante-garde and cutting edge of technology.
- He always taught in a different way. For example lecture, slide show, movies, text. The course was not what I was expecting but was fun!
- Creative applications of technology to writing.
- Very friendly atmosphere, assignments were fun.
- I liked our assignments--very different, out of the box, fun actually. Derek is incredibly knowledgeable and it shows.
- The creative freedom we were allowed.
- Very creative and stimulating projects.
- I liked a few of the projects we did, he made them fun and relatable.
What did you dislike most about this instructor and course?
- Enjoyed both.
- Group work.
- Nothing immediately comes to mind. Good prof, good course.
- The wiki project did not work very well.
- A bit too much time spent on lectures. I learn more by 'doing' than 'listening.'
- Strunk and Williams!
- I didn't like how I couldn't use font and color in Project One. But that's it!
- Not my major.
- Verbal assignment instructions can be confusing.
- I don't like presenting or talking too much, but his expectations were not unreasonable.
What constructive suggestions do you have for this instructor or course?
- Change the wiki project a bit.
- For things like Twitter, a more specific and guided rubric.
- I feel like project 2 could work better if it were an individual assignment.

- Try to better explain projects initially.
- Keep using twitter -- but w/ some more direction.
- Let us turn SPs in in any font!
- Develop Twitter more thoroughly.
- Maybe rework the project schedule to put the 3.33 remake sooner.
- Some things were a little unclear & then you'd go off on a speech to try to clear it up but sometimes it was still confusing. Good job! Thumbs up!
